Dr. Bruce E. Turner, PMP, Trainer & Coach

Bruce Turner is an independent Project Management Trainer, Coach and Guest Lecturer, as well as an experienced Senior Project Manager.

Bruce TurnerAs Project, Alliance and Contract Manager, Project Consultant and Business Planner, he has worked with many large and small organizations in Switzerland and abroad. These include Ascom (international telephone development projects, customer ticket vending machine project in the USA), Sunrise Communications (customer telecom project), Swisscom (joint venture telecom project in Prague), Mowag (Middle East maintenance and training project), Swatch Group (planning and controlling high-tech customer development projects), Brown Boveri (planning and controlling high-tech development projects), Dow Chemical and Kerr, Inc. (European marketing projects), Litton Industries (European Airbus project in Munich) and the U.S. Government (high-frequency radio communication projects throughout Europe).

As a Project Management Lecturer and Trainer, he was work with hundreds of persons studying project management at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, the University of Bern, the University of Fribourg, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, as well as with other schools in and outside of Switzerland. He has developed an approach to project management which is based upon individual as well as group needs. The project management tools and methods he applies and recommends are adapted for the persons and organizations using them. The person, not the method or tool, is focused upon. The person and team brings the results, not the tool. The tool may help.

As a Project Management Coach, he provides support to executives, line managers, project managers and project team members who are initiating, planning, realizing, controlling, reviewing, debugging or closing important projects. Rather than these persons being forced to make key decisions alone, coaching provides an early exchange of ideas, a consideration of alternatives and a discussion and evaluation of the likely results. Coaching of project managers and other project stakeholders by a project management specialist brings value and benefits, not only to the individuals involved, but also for the organization itself and for its customers and partners.
